Memphis Artist George Hunt has been busy over the past 28 years creating original paintings for Memphis in May International Festival's Beale Street Music Festival that takes place on the Mississippi River each spring.  George Hunt has created a look for the images that has become the essential "brand" image for Beale Street Music Festival.  Twenty eight paintings, twenty eight posters by George Hunt... each depicting the music, the heritage and the excitement of the Beale Street Music Festival.

George Hunt, facing health issues, called on a younger artist he had been mentoring to help with the 2022 painting. ROB GONZO, who had been studying Hunt's unique use of colors and collage materials jumped in to recreate 6 musicians who had appeared in several previous Beale Street Music Festival paintings. The original painting was finished in 2020...Hunt characters, Hunt composition with Gonzo's help painting.

Artist George Hunt has long been recognized as one of the top artists in the South and has also gained a national reputation through touring exhibits and shows from Seattle to New York...and Chicago to New Orleans.  His first love is Blues Music which finds its way in to most of his painting.  But George Hunt also creates incredible images about Civil Rights, African beauty and the rich history of African-Americans in the South.  George Hunt paints with color and feeling.
